NEMETH WHIPS
AUSTRALIA is a family-owned business - in fact, the Nemeth
family has been in the saddlery / whip making business since 1850.
NEMETH WHIPS AUSTRALIA is synonymous quality stockwhips and
bullwhips that are both well-balanced and durable.
NEMETH WHIPS
AUSTRALIA became a registered Trade Mark in July 2003, and
has been a registered business since 1996.
All our whips are hand crafted from
Australian Redhide and Kangaroo Hide leather, and we supply many
thousand of stockwhips every year to all Saddlery stores across
Australia. Our whips are purchased by stockmen and stockwomen on
the land, and also to tourist throughout Australia and numerous
overseas countries. Our commitment to quality, durability, and
services has resulted in NEMETH WHIPS
AUSTRALIA being the current NUMBER ONE selling stockwhip in
Australia.
All our whips have a green label on the
handle, stating 'Nemeth Whips Made in Australia'. The absence of
this green label means that you are not purchasing a genuine
NEMETH WHIPS AUSTRALIA stockwhip or
bullwhip.
Stockmen and women have been using
Stockwhips throughout Australia since the early 1800's and it is
still the preferred whip used today. The design of the Stockwhip is
perfectly suited to Australian conditions and has been refined for
use on horseback while working cattle and stock.
In 2002 The Year of the Outback was a
really big year for increasing people's awareness of Australian
Stockwhips, and the men and women on the land.
During his tour of the outback, Mr Peter
Costello ( the treasurer) was presented with a
NEMETH WHIPS AUSTRALIA stockwhip in Roma, south west
Queensland.
Big Brother 2 was on Channel 10 between
April & June 2002, and Marty (the country boy housemate), brought a
stockwhip into the house. We knew instantly that it was a
NEMETH WHIPS AUSTRALIA stockwhip, due
to the visible green label. Ironically, Marty brought his whip in
Perth and brought it over to the Big Brother House at Dreamworld,
south east Queensland - only 20kms away from where it was originally
made.
We were lucky to meet Marty & Jessica
from Big Brother 2 after the show had finished. We wrote a letter to
Marty, offering to give him a new whip to replace his whip that he
auctioned for charity when he left the house. The whip was a 6x4
Redhide stockwhip that had been signed by some of the housemates,
and it was sold for $3,500. Marty & Jessica called into our workshop
to pick up his new whip. John made a beautiful two tone (Black &
Red) Kangaroo hide Stockwhip for Marty, and it appeared in Celebrity
Big Brother a few days later.
Here are some
photos
of the day that Marty & Jessica called into the workshop.
The famous Outback adventurer, Russell
Coight, ( All Aussie Adventures) also has one of our whips that he
uses in the show - a loaded & balanced 6x4 Redhide stockwhip.
In July 2003, John & Katrina Nemeth made
the decision to move into a larger commercial workshop and become
the biggest manufacturer of stockwhips in Australia. We had a
Grand Opening for the workshop on
the 31st October 2003. Marty from Big Brother 2 flew over from
Perth for the big day and brought his whip with him. Politicians,
clients and friends joined John & Katrina in celebrating the great
achievement, Marty & John were interviewed by newspaper and radio
journalists.
